The Celebration of the Life of Auzlyn Merry Sky in Indianapolis — Indiana Birth Photographer
The Blessingway: I arrived Sunday morning with my crock-pot brunch pitch-in meal to find the most beautiful sacred space set up for Ali to receive blessings in the welcoming of her baby girl. In her friend's home, we nourished with yummy food, circled together, laughed, sipped Cacao, and sang our beautiful blessings around baby girl who was to enter this world very soon. We passed around a beautiful fresh flower crown, each adding their own as we went. We twined our blessings to our wrists, being moved to tears with each new blessing spoke. Afterwards, we went outside to circle Ali and pray with her. She loves the surrounding of nature and felt called to pray outside...and it was such a beautiful day. Her birth affirmations were strung up and ready to go home to their birthing space. We ate cupcakes. My cup was overflowing upon leaving this beautiful ceremony... ❤
The past week has been.....heavy.
I won't put a trigger warning on this. I don't believe in putting such on someone else's loss.
But I will say this - this gallery contains images of the most beautiful little vessel, of which that once held the most precious of souls, whom is no longer here on this human earth.
One week after the Blessingway... One week ago... I received the news early morning that Ali had labored beautifully at home and welcomed her baby girl. Only that, she could not take breaths after her birth. She physically faded and her soul lifted. Despite her fast-acting mother breathing everything into lungs for her. Pumping her little heart on her behalf for what I'm certain felt like a lifetime. She merely "dipped her toes" into this plane of existence, per her mother's words. She graced us with her beauty, which will be cherished for a lifetime. She blesses us with her memory for as long as time and beyond will exist. Auzlyn Merry Sky, 7lbs 11oz, born at 12:35am October 18, 2020 ❤
The Schaffer family has received such an outpouring support from our local community that I couldn't even fathom to exist. They wanted to bring Auz home for a ceremony, which was facilitated by Sproles Family Funeral Home. When I arrived to their house the night of the ceremony, the most beautiful viewing was in place. We were able to view sweet Auz beforehand while the softest accordion sounds were played. Then, we all sat together and sang the most beautiful songs to honor her, to say goodbye. Soul-touching poems were spoken. We gathered lavender, the dried lavender from her Blessingway, and spoke words of love and placed them in the fire under the moon. I left feeling moved, yet emotionally drained all the same. It was a beautiful, peaceful night after a week full of storms. ✨
The Schaffer Family has been monetarily supported by those who want to ensure expenses are covered: https://gf.me/u/y5mz9s
Just a literal outpouring, and I know they couldn't feel more supported and loved, though the hurt in their hearts will never cease. Please send an encouraging word or donation. ♡
